ECE Alumni Board provides support to new building

Recently, ECE Alumni Board President Chris George was able to announce that current and former Alumni Board members had come together to provide donations and pledges to surpass a set goal of $250,000. In recognition of this contribution, a room in the new building will recognize and honor the ECE alumni board .

Nearly two years ago the ECE Alumni Board made a commitment at one of its biannual meetings to provide support for the new ECE building. Current members would contact former board members, asking them to join the effort to provide a group gift for  the project.

“We felt as a Board that we needed to lead by example,” said Alumni Board President Chris George, a Chicago-based patent attorney. “As a group we were committed to ECE and this building project, and we were convinced that those who had served on the Board previously would agree.”

“I could not be more pleased,” said George. “Our current and former Alumni Board Members really came together to have a lasting impact on future students in ECE.”

The Alumni Board was able to achieve this funding goal by working together. Achieving the final funding goal for the ECE building is something that can be accomplished only by having all alumni and friends of ECE work together. We continue to seek support from alumni and friends to help us achieve our fundraising goal.  Visit the Building Campaign for ECE ILLINOIS site to “Do your bit.”
